Problem: Measuring your estrogen level can be interesting for several reasons. For example, it can help diagnose the cause of symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, weight gain or irregular menstrual cycles in women. An abnormal estrogen level can also lead to long-term health problems , too low an estrogen level in women can lead to bone loss (osteoporosis) and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
